Dwayne Johnson posts W Magazine casting call video
Dwayne Johnson, who has lately been focusing on more character-driven roles, posted the throwback video on his official Instagram account. The clip captures a 1990s-era casting call, with Johnson standing against a plain wall while answering basic questions about himself.
In the video, he shares his name and background and is asked whether he can do any accents, which prompts laughter from the future superstar.
At one point, Johnson is asked, “Are you comfortable with nudity?” He responds playfully, “Front or back?” When the interviewer specifies “Front,” Johnson replies, “Sure, how about sideways?” before adding that the short answer is yes, confirming he had no issue with nude scenes.
The Rock captioned the post, “Casting call for the kid. circa 1990’s.” Fans flooded the comments with jokes about how far he has come since then. One user sarcastically wrote, “I don’t quite think he’ll make it in Hollywood lol.” Another joked, “Too muscular, bald, Samoan with no hair. Not going to draw a dime.”
After dominating the box office with big-budget blockbusters, Johnson has recently been exploring more serious roles. He was praised for his performance as Mark Kerr in Bennie Safdie’s The Smashing Machine, earning critical acclaim for showcasing his dramatic range.
Next, he will appear in Disney’s live-action remake of Moana.
